The difference between the right word and almost the right word is the difference between lightning, and the lightning bug. -Mark Twain

I recently read a revolutionary book called Maximum Ride and the Angel Experiment, which is book one in a bestselling series called Maximum Ride by James Patterson. This book is about a group of avian human hybrids, (aka, bird kids), who call themselves the flock. They escaped from the malicious scientists that created them, and were rescued from a facility called the school by a man named Jeb Batchelder. There are six bird kids, Maximum Ride, or Max for short, (the leader,) Fang, Iggy (who is blind), Nudge, Gazzy (aka the Gasman, for reasons we aren’t going to discuss), and Angel, the youngest, at about six years old. But Jeb went missing, and they are know living on their own, in a small abandoned warehouse in the mountains. But when Angel is kidnapped by human-lupine (wolf) hybrids called Erasers, Max has to conduct a plan of action, before it is too late.
This book was amazing, well, beyond amazing, and seriously, you need to read this book. Five plus Stars

Do you ever write your own stories? I, for one, write my own stuff a lot, and I want you to be more prepared, so you don’t run into the same things I had to deal with. One of the first issues I always seem to run into is where to write my stories. Now, I’ve tried a lot of apps, and my personal favorite is google docs. This app has a lot of useful features. It connects to your gmail, and saves automatically, so you won’t use your progress. I found that feature very useful, because I have a tendency to forget to save, and then lose all of my progress. You don’t need internet to use it, so if you are on a plane or something, and lack access to internet, you can still add on to recently opened selections. It is easy to share and collaborate with friends, and you can see when your friend added on. I write a lot with my friends, so if they have a gmail, you can easily share your works with them. It doesn’t have a limit on how much you can write, which I love, and it features word count, and page numbers. It is a very efficient app, with good fonts, that I highly recommend. Another issue I run into is how to make proffesional looking covers, that are free, easy to make, and don’t require giving any personal information, or creating an account. A good app for this is called Over. On over, you can access internet from the app, and the text is easy to manipulate, with many cool features such as unique colors, shadows, curves, fonts, and a wide variety of pre-made graphics. Here is an example of a poster I made using Over. (Actually, it’s on a blog post.) Have you ever been stuck on what to read? I’ve made a list of some of my favorites, so next time you aren’t sure what to read, here are some suggestions. (Scroll to see)
Hello! This is one of my favorite poems that I wrote!
My head is made of ketchup, My shoes are made of gold! My shoes are worth a million bucks, At least that's what I'm told. How do I get school on time, Well not the big ol' bus My favorite pet will take me there, My purple platypus! My hair is made of chocolate, That is no giant feat. When anyone can see me, All they can do is eat! I'm getting quite a headache From everything I've said. And if you'll please excuse me, I'm going back to bed! |
